Detectives have released CCTV footage showing a white van they believe may have been carrying the body of missing father Derick Tempest.

Police are continuing their search for the 30-year-old who was last seen at about 4pm on Wednesday October 28 in the Blackfriars Road area of Great Yarmouth.

It is known that Mr Tempest visited James Hall, 60, and Andrew Ventham, 49, at their garage in Camden Place on that afternoon. One line of inquiry is that he had been blackmailing the pair and forensic evidence gathered at the premises suggests that Mr Tempest, of Nottingham Way, Yarmouth, may have come to serious harm there.

The bodies of Mr Hall and Mr Ventham, both of Queens Road, were discovered in a car at the garage on Monday November 2. Their deaths are still being treated as unexplained but it is thought they committed suicide through carbon monoxide.

Officers are continuing their efforts to trace the movements of a white van, registration T625 HJW. This vehicle was used by the two dead men and was seen to leave the Queens Road area at about 7.05pm on the evening of Wednesday October 28.

CCTV footage shows the vehicle leaving the Queens Road area and heading onto South Quay. At about 7.30pm, the vehicle is seen heading out of Yarmouth at the Pasteur Road roundabout. Further sightings of the van have been established in and around Yarmouth between 7pm and 9pm when the van is believed to have been driven back towards the Blackfriars Road area.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the van or has information about its movements on that evening.

Det Chief Insp Rick Munns said: 'It has now been over a month since Derick was last seen in the Blackfriars Road area and we continue to investigate his disappearance as a suspected murder.

'The response to our initial appeal for sightings of the van has been disappointing. By issuing the photos of the van and releasing more specific details of the vehicles movements we hope will help the public to remember if they saw the van at a particular location on the evening of Wednesday October 28.

'We would also like to hear from anyone who may have met with or been in contact with Mr Hall and Mr Ventham after 7pm on that same evening.'

The vehicle is white/grey in colour has black bars and a distinctive orange 'emergency style' light on the roof as well as black markings across the sides of the roof.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Norfolk Constabulary on 0845 456 4567 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
