Hundreds of volunteers have dedicated their time to help in East Suffolk communities during the pandemic – and now a council wants to thank those who have made a difference.

East Suffolk Council wants to celebrate the people, organisations and businesses who have given up their time, knowledge and skills in their communities during the Coronavirus outbreak.

As part of this, the council will be creating a unique eBook which will tell the stories of some volunteers and showcase the important work they have carried out.

Steve Gallant, East Suffolk Council leader, said: “Covid-19 has taken a terrible toll on the country, but it has also brought out the very best in our communities and highlighted the incredible lengths that people are willing to go through to help others.

“East Suffolk’s response to the crisis has been nothing short of amazing and I am truly grateful to the hundreds of people, organisations and businesses who have dedicated their time and resources to support their communities – they have been delivering vital food and medicines to vulnerable residents, manufacturing PPE to protect carers, making phone calls to lonely and/or isolated residents and much, much more.

“To thank each and every one of these unsung heroes, we want to produce a unique eBook to tell some of their stories and celebrate their amazing achievements.

“To help us, please nominate the people, organisations or businesses that have helped in your community during the crisis by filling out this short form.”

If you know of anyone in your community who have been volunteering and helped those in need during this time, or have been involved with an organisation or with businesses that have stepped in as a response to Covid-19, you can nominate them by filling out the form at thebridge3.typeform.com/to/eAAIJ8Dd
