About 150 creative people turned out to decorate Ness Point in Lowestoft as a chalk festival enthused families.

With some "fab art" and "really lovely designs" created, artists of all ages joined in with the event organised by The Ness - the UK's most easterly park - on Saturday, September 14.

Running from 10am to 4pm at Ness Point Euroscope, the free event attracted a fine turnout as some stunning street art was created.

Jo Leverett, the events and marketing co-ordinator for The Ness, said: "It was really lovely.

"Considering we only came up with the idea very close to the event, we had around 150 people down there which was great.

"There was lots of children and families, and some of the children even stayed down there all day - their parents could not get them away."

With some "really lovely designs" created along the seawall, the main focal point of the festival was "a massive octopus," that the children all worked together on.

Jo Leverett said: "They all worked as a group, colouring in and designing different tenticles.

"A gentleman fishing said to us that it was lovely to see all the smiling faces at Ness Point.

"We will definitely do it again next year."
