A drop in centre for servicemen and veterans has moved out of its temporary location in Lowestoft.

The Royal British Legion has closed its centre in Station Square and moved to the Army Reserve Centre off St Peters Street, where it will open on Thursdays from 11am to 3pm.

During its 15 week trial the Station Square centre and volunteers provided help and advice to veterans and information ranging from service pensions to funerals.

Lowestoft Royal British Legion Chairman Bob King said: 'Unfortunately our branch funds are limited and the shop was only on loan to us. We are looking at premises we can have full-time for a full year where we can control our costs.

'It went very well during the trial period and that's a service we want to maintain.'
