A popular group has helped to raise funds for a Lowestoft school.
Last year the Anglia Pensioners Association held two charity functions to raise money for the Warren School.
A coffee and cake morning, which included a stall to sell books and jigsaws, raised just over £300. A well attended charity dance evening, complete with a huge raffle that featured prizes all donated by the Association members, raised a further £1,200 for the school as the evening was hailed a success as Lowrider entertained on the night. Many thanks to the Uplands Community Centre for hosting the events. Pictured is Mac Yallop, chairman of the Anglia Pensioners Association, presenting a cheque for £1,500 to Nicole Winchester, the business manager of the Warren School. Arnie Poll, club secretary, and committee members Christine Snell and Norman Laughland are also pictured. A sponsorship deal with Barclays Bank led to another £1,000 being raised, to bring the grand total to £2,500. These funds were used to buy a large multi screen teaching aid, which can be height adjusted to suit all the school pupils as they range in age from five to 19.
