I AM Jo Woolnough's mother-in-law and I live in Reydon.

Three years ago, last November, I lost my beloved husband Doug and Mantha was like a granddaughter to me.

I was beginning to come to terms with losing Doug and when Mantha was killed in the tragic accident in Yarmouth Road my world fell apart again.

She was such a lifeline for me. Only two weeks before this awful tragedy we were laying in bed on the Sunday planning what she would like to do through the summer and weekends; places to go and things to do.

Mantha loved cooking with me and we always had to make enough so everybody had one cake each. She could also be a little devil but always ready for a cuddle. She really was my lifeline and I miss her so much as if she was my own granddaughter.

I really cannot understand why the authorities have now spent money outside Pakefield Primary School and reduced the speed to 20 mph while children still have to cross the main A12 and be penned in like animals at the crossing point where Mantha died.

Is it going to take another tragedy and another family being put in the same situation before something is done?

I can only say I am glad my children are grown up.

My heart goes out to Jackie and Kevin.
