Twelve club members paid a visit to the forum home of the BBC Norwich to meet producer of voices Gary Standley and Wendy Witham organising the BBC Norfolk's Film Festival 2009 offering film makers an opportunity to have their films seen by the public on the giant screen in fusion at the forum. The themes for this year's festival are people, places and everyday life, and Clive Dunn not the one from Dad's Army please note but a film producer for the BBC who screened some films brought in by members of the Phoenix Group with the restoration of the Lydia Eve and Waveney Rush Mats and the lonely mill and on the shelf by member Alan Ruff with constructive criticism was given by the producers and accepted by members and thanked by president Austin Mobbs. On Thursday, September 24 the rest of the show reel from Wyre Forest Club preceded with a newsreel produced by our vice-chair and projectionist Roger Bellham. After the tea interval two films were screened, one on board the Albion by Jeff Riches and the Lowestoft toe dip by Ron Rushmere to end a very interesting evening. Next week there is a visit from Clive Dunn showing some films produced at the BBC, how they were made and showing the tricks of the trade with discussion. Don't forget the film and video workshop meets every Tuesday at 7.30 at the studio film theatre. Come and learn the art of film and video production with Neil Achew workshop leader.
