Organisers of a classic car show have hailed the community spirit after hundreds of people turned out for an inaugural fund-raising event.
With more than 100 classic vehicles, sleek sports cars, vintage motorcycles, powerboats and buses turning up at the Corton playing field, near Lowestoft, yesterday (Sunday), as money was raised for Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.
And there was something for everyone to enjoy, as people marvelled at the vehicles on display, with craft and trade stalls, a bouncy castle and a raffle all taking place.
Distinctive Lotus cars were on show alongside a range of vehicles owned by members of the Lowestoft Classic Vehicle Club and Lowestoft Mini Club members. Powerboats owned by Lowestoft and Oulton Broad Motor Boat (LOBMBC) Club members and vehicles from First Buses, who sponsored the event, were also displayed.
The event was organised by Garry Smith to raise funds for the hospital that helped save his granddaughter.
Mr Smith, 56, said: 'I honestly can't believe it – I never thought we would get this amount of quality vehicles on display.'
