DELEGATIONS from across the world are descending on Lowestoft, as a successful local club continues to champion its facilities.
Waveney Gymnastics Club is the only sports club in north Suffolk to win selection as part of the pre-London 2012 Training Camp - meaning its facilities will be on offer to international teams as they prepare ahead of the games.
And in another boost that will help its gymnasts and trainers attend events and competitions more easily, the club in Southwell Road has unveiled a brand new minibus after teaming up with the John Grose car dealership in Lowestoft.
Having already hosted training camps prior to the world championships for the Canadian and British men's artistic teams in September and October last year, the Scottish women's team also spent a week training at Waveney last August.

Centre Manager Vikki Rogers said: 'We are thrilled to welcome teams of such a high calibre to visit us and hope that they will provide an inspiration for everyone connected to the club and the local community.'
The club is also optimistic that following these successful visits, more major teams will visit Lowestoft in the future.
With this in mind, its brand new 17-seate minibus, kindly sponsored by John Grose, has been a very welcome addition.
The vehicle - which bears a striking sign-written logo - will provides a great opportunity for the club's flourishing young gymnasts to travel together, and will also help reduce transport costs for parents and carers.
Karl Rogers, sales manager at John Grose in Lowestoft, said: 'We are thrilled to have been able to support the Waveney Gymnastics Club in this way. On a recent visit we were extremely impressed with the facilities available right on our doorstep.
'We also had the pleasure of meeting some of the trainers and the gymnasts, they obviously work very hard but have a great time too. The skill of the gymnasts was amazing! We hope our minibus will enable the team to attend competitions and events more easily and reduce the travel costs for the families. We look forward to continuing to build our relationship with the club, and hope to see some of the gymnasts representing our country at the Olympics in future.'
The minibus will also be available to carry international teams and visitors to and from airports in the build-up to the 2012 games.
Miss Rogers added: 'The bus can be used for transporting all of our gymnasts and users to their competitions, squads, displays events, and to take supporters to competitions, as well as for local schools as part of our Schools Community Coach project.'
