Coastguard crews receive call-out to “despondent” woman

Coastguard rescue officers from Lowestoft and Southwold Coastguard teams received a call-out yesterday (Sunday) evening after a woman was reported as being despondent at Pakefield Beach.

Humber Coastguard paged the teams at 8.26pm to assist Suffolk Police with attend to the woman who was sitting in the water at Pakefield Beach while the tide rose around her.

The police managed to encourage her to safety and lifeguard crews were stood down en route.
