Fundraisers from the Lowestoft-based Lauren Lou appeal, which continues to raise money and awareness in aid of cancer charities and local causes, have been boosted by a recent collection.
Last Friday, October 20 a street collection and table top sale was held at the Tesco Metro store in Lowestoft town centre, with £349.11 collected.
Gary Bennett said: 'The team Lauren Lou cancer fundraising group, fresh from being a finalist in the Pride of Britain awards for the eastern region, raised £349.11 for its cancer appeals fund. Thank you so much to Tesco for their kind hospitality and all the customers who donated. Thank you to my volunteers for doing what we do best to help others.'
Mr Bennett thanked Lowestoft Town FC chairman Alan Green for the nomination in Anglia TV's regional Pride of Britain awards, where they just fell short after being in the last four. Mr Bennett said this was 'a tremendous achievement nonetheless.'
