THROUGHOUT the years there has been a strong association between the Lowestoft Lifeboat and The Salvation Army. As one of the leaders of The Salvation Army Citadel in Battery Green Road I know that I speak for our members and the local community when I express our admiration for the commitment and courage of the volunteers of our lifeboat, and we all want to show our support to the people who are involved in saving lives at sea.

In the run up to Christmas supporters of the Lowestoft Lifeboat organise a Carol Service which is held in The Salvation Army.
It gives us all an opportunity to meet up with the local crew and fund-raisers where we can listen to good music, sing a few popular carols and be identified with the work of our local lifeboat.
Among those taking part this year is the Coxswain, John Fox, who appeared on national television a couple of weeks ago when the crew were involved in a courageous piece of work at sea.
The Lifeboat Carol Service is on Sunday, December 6, and starts at 3 pm.
There is no charge for admission but there will be a collection.
The afternoon will conclude with light refreshments giving us all time to meet our local lifeboat members. We hope you will come along to support them.
