Harvest sing - On Sunday, September 27, St Bartholomew's Church will be the venue for a harvest sing, when residents and visitors will be invited to join in the singing of a succession of popular hymns accompanied by the church organ. The afternoon also offers the chance to view the harvest decorations and to enjoy teas and refreshments in the narthex. The church will be open from 2 to 5pm.

On Monday, September 28, St Bartholomew's holds its traditional harvest supper. Further details are available from Wendy Rodgers 731164.

Walk to school - Monday, September 28, brings the start of walk to school week, when children will be encouraged to come to school by means other than by car. A series of events including themed assemblies, a quiz and a crossword will promote the benefits of safe walking for both health and the environment. A special cartoon-style mascot, Corton the Cat, has been introduced for the occasion and will feature on awards given for achievements during the week.
