The plan, which was much in evidence during the recent Walk to School week, outlines a general strategy to promote safe and healthy travel and included such elements as participation in the Junior Road Safety Officers scheme, liaison with the community police and a proposal for encouraging reduced traffic speeds through the village. A county award for the plan was due to be presented at a special assembly yesterday (Thursday, October 8).
