Corton Wives - For the September meeting Corton Wives paid a return visit to the New Studio Film Theatre in the Sparrow's Nest. The group enjoyed over two hours of short films which had been made mainly by local enthusiasts and which included a film following the work of the Corton Woods Project throughout the seasons.

Corton Wives - For the September meeting Corton Wives paid a return visit to the New Studio Film Theatre in the Sparrow's Nest. The group enjoyed over two hours of short films which had been made mainly by local enthusiasts and which included a film following the work of the Corton Woods Project throughout the seasons. Other films which attracted great interest concerned the Waveney Rush Industry in Oulton Broad and the making of the Millennium Embroidery in Sunbury, Middlesex.

At the October meeting the guest will be Mike Smith of the British Legion.

Parish plan - Corton Parish Plan has now been published and made available for public inspection. Copies of the plan are enclosed in the October issue of Coastline magazine and the full document can also be found on the village website. (www.cortonvillage.co.uk)

Charity auction - An appeal has been made for donations of household items for an auction to be held in the village hall in November in aid of Waveney Hospice Care. All household and garden items will welcome. The exact date of the sale will be announced early next month. Contact Jessica 731358 for further details.

Coffee morning - A coffee morning will be held at Corton Methodist Church on Wednesday, October 7, from 10am. Attractions include a raffle and stalls for cakes, gifts, books, toys and jigsaws.

Church services - On Sunday, there will be a service of all age worship at St Bartholomew's Church at 9.30am. The morning service at Corton Methodist Church at 11am will be led by Rev L Richards.
