Corton Holiday Village has closed after high winds caused damage to the communal area of the resort.

The resort, run by Warner Leisure Hotels, suffered the damage on Saturday night into Sunday morning, with the village shut at Sunday lunchtime.

The damage was described as ‘fairly significant’ by a spokesperson, with no indication as to when the resort would reopen.

A spokesperson for Corton Coastal Village said:“Guests who had to depart from their break early will be contacted in due course by our customer support team to confirm the compensation package due to these unforeseen circumstances.

“We are also in the process of contacting guests who were scheduled to arrive and advising the options available, including staying at an alternative hotel or receiving a refund for their break.

“The safety of our guests, as well as the enjoyment of their holiday, is of paramount importance to us and as a result it was necessary for us to close whilst we assess the damage.”
