POLICE officers from Waveney were among those honoured at an awards ceremony yesterday.Four Lowestoft-based officers from the Investigative Response Team (IRT) were part of the county-wide IRT recognised for the positive impact their work has had on the force and the service provided to the victims of crime.

Four Lowestoft-based officers from the Investigative Response Team (IRT) were part of the county-wide IRT recognised for the positive impact their work has had on the force and the service provided to the victims of crime.
PC Holly Shranks, PC Nikky Temple, PC James Witton and PC Andy Jessup, who work for the IRT in Lowestoft, will share the Gulshan Kayembe award, which was also presented to members of the Norfolk and Suffolk Joint Major Investigation Team.
Other local winners at the ceremony, held at police headquarters in Martlesham Heath, were Robin Stockman, special inspector for the Beccles and Leiston areas, who was presented with the Martin Ashburn award in recognition of his dedication and commitment.
Sgt Kevin Howell of the Beccles and Bungay safer neighbourhood team was presented with a first award for responding to community concerns in recognition of his creative and enthusiastic approach to tackling local issues.
