Cycle paths should be used

I READ on The Journal's web page of an incident involving a cyclist and mother and child in Lowestoft town center.

When I returned to the town last September I was annoyed to see the increase in cycling on the promenade, on the bridge and in the town centre.

With all the cycle paths why cannot the cyclists keep to them instead of endangering pedestrians and themselves?

I can understand not cycling over the bridge on the road but they should be made to get off their bikes and walk over as a pedestrian and not to remount until they are on the road again.

I accept that as I do not now live in Lowestoft I do not have a right to complain but I have many friends living there and I am concerned for them.

The council must wake up to this problem before someone is seriously hurt.
