A deaf awareness event will be held in Lowestoft next week.

Stalls and exhibition stands from charities will be showcased at the event, which is being held on Monday, May 15 at the conference room in Riverside, Lowestoft between 11am and 3pm.

Held as part of deaf awareness week, there will also be performances from the Andy the Clown and also the signing choir, while the Warren School will perform at 11.30am. There will also be a quiz, with prizes available, and the chance to find out what services are available for deaf people.

A spokesman for the Sensory and Communication team said: 'Many children, young people and the public will come to the event. It will be a celebration of deaf awareness week and to explore what is out there for people who are deaf. We promise to support children and young people who have a sensory loss by offering them and their families outstanding services based on expert knowledge.'
