POLICE today named a 12-year-old boy who died following a crash near Peasenhall on Friday.

Luke Reid was one of the passengers in a Landrover which overturned around 5pm.

Luke, from West Kensington in London, was one of four people in the vehicle.

His family today paid tribute to him in a written statement. It read: “Luke was a bright light in all our lives. He was happy and loving and always interested in everyone. We miss him terribly and know how lucky we were to have had him in our lives.”

Ambulance, police and the Air Ambulance attended the crash. A man and two other children were also in the car and sustained injuries.

They were taken to Ipswich Hospital, but none of them suffered serious injuries.

The collision occurred on an un-named road between Peasenhall and Carlton, running between Rendham Road and a road near to the north end of Pipney Hill.

Police want to speak to anyone who was in this area at the time, particularly the occupants of a large black car, possibly a Land Rover Discovery, seen driving along this road prior to the collision.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to contact PC Rick Godden at Suffolk Constabulary's Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01473 613500.
