VANDALS ran amok along Lowestoft promenade this week, leaving beach huts badly damaged.

The beach huts on the lower Esplanade at Jubilee Parade were targeted between Monday and Tuesday (May 17, May 18) and at least six were reported to have suffered damage.

And the latest acts were condemned by one beach hut owner, who wished to remain anonymous.

He told the Journal: 'Two of the council-owned huts have been left with their doors hanging off, three other wooden huts had their doors kicked in while one hut had its roof torn off - and we haven't even started the summer season yet as this mindless vandalism goes on.'
