The displays are organised by Lowestoft Vision, the town's Business Improvement District, which is managed by the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce and aims to make the town centre an attractive place to visit and work.

Each year, working in partnership with Waveney Norse, Lowestoft Vision provides the displays from May to October to create a colourful welcome to the town.

Michelle Tucker, manager of Starbucks in London Road North, said: 'We think the floral displays look fantastic, and they really brighten up the town centre. It is nice to know that as a business, we have played a part in making it happen as Lowestoft Vision members.'

The displays run alongside with the newly installed drop down banners located along London Road North, Bevan Street East and the historic High Street, which are also provided by Lowestoft Vision.

To complement the banners, there will be fresh new wayfinding signs and maps which will start from the sea front, through the town centre and ending at Sparrows Nest. The project is due to be completed around September and will have information on where to find shops, the bus station and toilets, as well as indicating how long it will take to walk from each point to the next. New colourful maps will also include facts about the particular area the map is located.

And for families visiting the town this summer, Lowestoft Vision has launched a new trail with 20 fishy friends.

The Find Freddie the Fish and Friends trail started on Sunday and runs until September 3.

Leaflets and maps are available at shops around the town and information can also be found on the Discover Lowestoft website.

The fish were created by Lowestoft-based Scenic Projects, with each colourfully designed and with its own unique name.

Along with the trail there is a stamp competition, Freddie colouring sheets for little ones which will also be available in local shops, and the new 'Fish Face Selfie' on the Discover Lowestoft Facebook page.
