A TATTOOED man stole a black touch-screen mobile phone in a distraction burglary in Lowestoft last night.

Police need to trace a man described as white, aged in his late teens to early 20s, around 6ft tall, of average to stocky build with two letters tattooed under one of his ears and dots tattooed on the knuckles of one hand after the phone was stolen from a resident at Kelly Pain Court on Wednesday (March 11).

A 32-year-old man answered a knock at his door around 7.15pm and found the man, who was wearing black tracksuit bottoms, white trainers, a grey jacket and grey hooded top, who engaged him in conversation. The 32-year-old got the impression he was a contractor and the man managed to talk his way into the property.

The man was left unattended for a brief period and then said he had to leave. Moments later the 32-year-old noticed his phone was missing and police were alerted.
