The Lowestoft Memory Walk held its third annual walk on Sunday.

Organisers Suzan Collins and Jo Wilde said it was the best event ever.

“It was a fantastic event. A huge amount of people turned up, three times more than we’ve had previously.

“There was a great view of the sea, the sun was shining and there were horses out riding along the cliff top.”

Walkers either took part in a 2km or 4km route starting out at Pakefield Beacon.

Tania Birtwistle, Alzheimer’s Society locality administrator for Suffolk, said: “The Alzheimer’s society supports people to live well with dementia today and funds research to find a cure for tomorrow.

“Memory walks are the Alzheimer’s society flagship annual fundraising event; they take place all over the country during the month of September.

“There are local services for people with dementia, their families and carers. For any local information and or support then telephone 01473 237301.”
