Driver three times over drink limit

A man who was more than three times the drink-drive limit has been banned from driving for three years.

Jose Da Silva, 46, of Ontario Road, Lowestoft, was stopped by police after he was spotted driving erratically through the town.

Jose Da Silva, 46, of Ontario Road, Lowestoft, was stopped by police after he was spotted driving erratically through the town.

Lowestoft Magistrates' Court heard yesterday how tests showed Da Silva had 257mcg of alcohol in 100ml of blood. The legal limit is 80.

Da Silva pleaded guilty and was fined £210 as well as receiving a driving ban. He told the court he had been driving someone home from a party.
