The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust is recruiting students for its paramedic programme.

The programme is part of a drive to recruit 40 new members of staff in Suffolk in order to increase staff and improve performance at the trust.

Matt Broad, locality director for EEAST Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, said: “The trust has made great strides over the last year following the recruitment of hundreds of student paramedics and we are looking to continue the improvements this year.

“It is an extremely rewarding career and we are looking for enthusiastic, caring and compassionate candidates to come forwards and to work in east and west Suffolk.”

Last year the ambulance trust hired 400 student paramedics, with more than 200 already having been recruited towards another 400 for this year.
