After prime minister Boris Johnson announced a nationwide lockdown, East Suffolk Council’s customer services centre at the Marina in Lowestoft will now close for ‘face-to-face’ enquiries and visits.
People with council enquiries are now asked to go online wherever possible.
A council spokesman said: “Many of our services can be found on our website, www.eastsuffolk.gov.uk.
“There are a range of things to do, such as reporting fly-tipping, renewing garden waste and reporting missed bin collections, as well as making payments.”
If anyone has an enquiry which cannot be resolved online, they should email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Customers can also call 03330 162 000 but please bear in mind that the telephone lines are likely to be very busy and calls should only be made if absolutely necessary.
