The East Suffolk Lines Community Rail Partnership will host a free guided railway walk this weekend.
Walkers can explore the Garden Of Suffolk, the pastures of Rookery Park and the village of Yoxford on Saturday, April 28 with a 6.25-mile ramble.
Starting from Saxmundham railway station – on the Ipswich to Lowestoft line – at 11am, the route follows footpaths, farm tracks and country lanes as it takes walkers towards Darsham station.
Covering 6.25 miles of Suffolk countryside, the ramble – which is free to participate in – is anticipated to take more than three hours to complete. The walk has been timed to coincide with arrival at Saxmundham station of the 10.07am Greater Anglia train from Lowestoft. Return train services run hourly from Darsham station and there is no need to book for the walk.
The East Suffolk Lines Community Rail Partnership have published more than 140 miles of walks which link with railway stations across the east of the county. Visit www.eastsuffolklines.co.uk for further details.
