IT is my firm belief that Brussels, assisted by Gordon Brown, his Labour government and the BBC, has designated East Anglia (Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Lincolnshire) to be the first fully fledged Euro Region as set out in the Brussels 1972 publication, England of the Regions.

Scotland, Wales and Northern Island are already regions in their own right, Tony Blair saw to that before leaving office and staking his claim to become the first president of a United States of Europe.

Think about it, the BBC and some newspapers always refer now to the East of England Fire Service, the East of England Ambulance Service, the East of England Primary Care Trust, the East of England Development Agency, and with the coming abolition of Suffolk Councils and the establishing of unitary councils well on the way to becoming a reality.

Wake up England and Waveney before it's too late.
