Poetry, coffee and railways on the agenda for Waveney’s libaries

Library events across Waveney will be taking place this week in Lowestoft and Halesworth.

At Lowestoft Library on Friday, July 6, OneLife Suffolk will be holding free 30 minute NHS health checks for 40 to 74 year-olds from 10am to 4pm. Call OneLife Suffolk to book your appointment on 01473 718193.

The Friends of Lowestoft Library are also holding a coffee morning and book sale on Saturday, July 14 from 10am to 1pm.

At Halesworth Library there will be an evening of poetry, prose and play readings from Halesworth writers on Wednesday, July 4 at 7.30pm, with tickets costing £5 and raising money for the Friends of Halesworth Library.

There will also be a display from the Halesworth to Southwold Narrow Gauge Railway Society from Tuesday, July 17 to Monday, July 30 which will provide more information about the society’s proposal to reinstate Halesworth’s narrow gauge railway.
