The UK's most easterly running event will return as profits from the race are donated to Break.

The Lowestoft Half Marathon event, organised by Nicholsons Half Marathon Limited, is a two-lap route beginning and ending at the bottom of the Lowestoft sea wall, around 200 yards north of Ness Point.

Runners will head north towards the turning point at the Corton Inn Pub (Corton Hut) before returning to the Start/Finish line.

Some 600 runners are expected to take part in the 13.1 mile race for the Norfolk based charity.

Road closures will be in place along the route and spectators in particular will need to be aware of these.

The roads that will be closed for the duration of the race include: Gunton Cliff, Lyndhurst Road, Corton Road, Links Road.

In its first year, more than £2,000 was raised last year for the children's charity that has been supporting vulnerable children, young people and families across East Anglia for 50 years.

Last year saw the event completely sell out and double its capacity from the year before.

People have been signing up from all over the country for the most easterly half marathon in England. The course is a two-lap route beginning and ending at the bottom of the Lowestoft sea wall.

The Lowestoft half marathon will be starting at 10am on Sunday, October 7, with runners being asked to arrive at 9am for registration.

All runners that complete the half marathon will receive a winners medal, T-shirt and a goodie bag.

Birdseye has allowed the public to use its car park situated at the bottom of Gas Works Road and will be open from 8.15am.

At approximately 12pm a presentation will take place at race HQ featuring male and female 1st, 2st and 3rd finishers along with age category winners and team prizes being awarded.
