AFTER being struck down by a chronic illness, a north Suffolk woman has overcome the odds thanks to the Lightning Process.

Kate Simpson, who lives near Southwold, is passing on advice to other sufferers of the severe and debilitating illness ME by becoming a practitioner.

In 2001, she became ill and was diagnosed with myalgic encephalomyelitis, which is characterised by a range of neurological symptoms and signs, muscle pain combined with intense physical or mental exhaustion and relapses.

During the next four years, she was unable to work or care for her young son, couldn't walk far without feeling exhausted and subsequently spent a lot of time lying down and resting.

She invested in alternative therapies, different diets, supplements and much more, but any benefit she felt quickly tailed off.

But in 2005, her life changed when she met Amir Norris, a fatigue therapist, who had trained in the Lightning Process and was helping people to recover from ME.

“I was very sceptical and scared - how could there be a cure out there when everything I'd been told so far was the opposite?” she said.

After booking herself onto a three-day therapeutic training programme, her life “completely changed” as she went from strength to strength - and after seven days she had completely cleared her ME symptoms.

“It was amazing, suddenly I had my life back,” she said. “If it hadn't happened to me I would never have believed it could be true.”

Kate added: “The practice is thriving. People are travelling from all over the UK and from abroad to get well with us.”
