A man accused of attacking two men during a night out in Lowestoft has been cleared by a jury.
Before Ipswich Crown Court was William Gilroy, 34, of Berry Road, Lowestoft, who denied inflicting grievous bodily harm on one man and assaulting another man by beating in December 16.
Mr Gilroy was cleared of both offences after a three day trial.
The court heard the two alleged victims were in Faith nightclub with friends and were walking across the dance floor when they were allegedly hit in the face by Mr Gilroy.
One man suffered a fractured eye socket and cheekbone as a result of the alleged attack and had a metal plate inserted in his face.
Giving evidence during the trial Mr Gilroy said he had been on the dance floor at the nightclub and had bumped into a man who had threatened him.
He denied initiating the violence that followed and claimed he had tried to defend himself after punches were thrown at him.
