A number of participants took part in the Pakefield Church Abseil event.

Brave participants took part in a daring charity abseil to raise money for worthwhile causes.

More than 30 people scaled the tower at Pakefield Church on Saturday, June 11 to raise money for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) – along with church funds.

Canon Bob Baker said: “We don’t know the full total raised yet, as sponsorship money is still coming in, but we anticipate it will be in the region of £2,000.

“We had some great weather and that helped as a lot of people came to support our brave abseilers.

“We all had a fabulous day.”

The youngest participant at 12-years-old up to the eldest at 57, meant that the event turned out to be a real family affair.

And almost £1000 was also raised on the day as people enjoyed traction engine rides, games, a bouncy castle, cream teas and bacon butties.
