The festivities are set to continue in Lowestoft town centre in the run up to Christmas as the only full scale professional pantomime, Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs, opens at the town's Marina Theatre next Tuesday.
And to celebrate the launch of panto season, Lowestoft Vision has teamed up with the Marina Theatre to provide some extra seasonal entertainment – which includes a chance to win an iPad, as well as a special Christmas Parade through the town on Saturday.
Running through until Christmas Eve, families visiting the town centre can now take part in Snow White’s Festive Trail, which includes 11 special Snow White Selfie Station’s that have been located within various town centre shops and businesses.
The challenge is to discover the locations and names of each character and to complete the trail guide to be in with a chance of winning an iPad, which has been sponsored by Lowestoft’s Adventure Island Play Park.
And to add to the fun, those taking part are being encouraged to post their own selfie’s to the Marina Theatre’s Facebook page, facebook/themarinatheatre or tag the venue on Twitter @marinatheatre1
On Saturday, Snow White’s Fairy-Tale Christmas Parade will head through the town – from Station Square, along London Road North to the Marina Theatre. Starting at 12.30pm, and led by Southwold and Reydon Corps of Drums, stars from the panto will be joined by Father Christmas. The parade also includes pupils from the Marina Youth Theatre, a host of colourful characters and staff from local businesses in fancy dress armed with special offers and treats.
Karen Thompson, Marketing Manager for the Marina Theatre, said: “The Marina Theatre and the cast of Snow White are thrilled to join with Lowestoft Vision to ensure a host of fun in the Town Centre this Christmas. We cannot wait to see all the pictures from the Snow White Selfie Station’s and join in with the special parade.”
