Independent filmmakers from across the region are being asked to take part in the first ever collaborative digital feature film to be made in Suffolk.

Inspired by the films New York, I Love You and Paris, I Love You, Film Suffolk is asking for submissions of short creative scripts, each between 3-10 minutes which will be merged together into a string of stories linked by the common theme of love.

The film will be entitled 'With Love From Suffolk' and the narrative idea is to explore the ups and downs of human relationships while looking for entertaining plot twists and characters that represent the region's quirky nature.

A development team will select 10-12 scripts to appear in the film; each directed by an established or up and coming director from Norfolk/Suffolk.

A launch event has been organised on March 2 at the Ipswich Film Theatre at 7pm. The event will welcome all those interested in taking part and will include a networking session.

Julien Mery, director at Film Suffolk and Livid Films said, 'The production of With Love From Suffolk will be a fantastic opportunity to showcase the amazing talent of our local film makers, to promote the beauty of this county and of course to captivate audiences up and down the country.

'We're really humbled by the support we have already received and are hoping to get more local celebrities to join us. We now just need Ed Sheeran to offer to write the soundtrack for us.'

Steven Hall, cinematographer for The Imitation Game, and the upcoming Star Wars film said 'Hopefully the idea can be brought to the screen in the most creative way possible. I'd love to get involved and help make this series of shorts look amazing.'

The idea follows the success of Suffolk director Mat Kirkby who recently won an Oscar for his short film 'The Phone Call'.

Anyone who would like to submit a script can email matthew@filmsuffolk.org.uk by Monday, March 16.
