Fire crews called to recycling centre

A FIRE broke out in a compactor of a recycling centre in Lowestoft.The blaze in a warehouse of the SCA recycling centre on Nelson Wharf, Victoria Road, required four crews to put it out yesterday.

A FIRE broke out in a compactor of a recycling centre in Lowestoft.

The blaze in a warehouse of the SCA recycling centre on Nelson Wharf, Victoria Road, required four crews to put it out yesterday.

A hydraulic platform was used to assist in tackling the flames, with firefighters called to the incident at just gone 5.30pm.

The fire was extinguished and made safe by 6.24pm.
