Firefighters were called following reports of a blaze at a property in Carlton Colville.

Two crews from the nearby Lowestoft south fire station attended the scene on Long Road yesterday (Monday, September 4), where they encountered a fire in the front room of a house.

One hosereel was used to extinguish the fire, whilst ventilation was also used to clear the smoke that ensued.

Oxygen was administered to one female in her 20s and a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle was called, but she did not require any further care.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are to be carried out in due course.
