Firefighters battle blazes across town

FOUR fire crews battled a blaze at a three storey block of flats in Lowestoft on Saturday evening.

The fire at the semi-detached building in London Road South started at about 5.

FOUR fire crews battled a blaze at a three storey block of flats in Lowestoft on Saturday evening.

The fire at the semi-detached building in London Road South started at about 5.50pm and took firefighters just over two hours to contain and put out.

Firefighters accounted for everyone from the flats and damage was caused to the building's roof space and frontage.

At 7.20pm firefighters were called to Shadingfield Close to tackle a kitchen fire in a first floor flat. It took two crews 20 minutes to deal with the incident.
