Firefighters tackle the house fire on Kirkley Run, Lowestoft.

FIREFIGHTERS are currently on the scene of a major house blaze in Kirkley.

Three crews are dealing with the fire at the house in Kirkley Run, which is believed to be in a terraced home.

FIREFIGHTERS are currently on the scene of a major house blaze in Kirkley.

Four crews are dealing with the fire at the house in Kirkley Run, which is believed to be in a terraced home.

An eye-witness said: “The road has been cordoned off as firefighters deal with the blaze. “The roof is well alight and the fire crews are using two hose reel jets to put out the flames.”

Details of the incident are still sketchy at this stage, but it is understood that the fire is in a three-storey house, and it is believed to have spread to neighbouring properties.

Crews from Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service have also been called to the scene, with the crews being called out at 5pm on Wednesday.

Police are also on the scene at the moment, and they are diverting traffic away from the area.
