Firefighters tackle house blaze

FIREFIGHTERS from Lowestoft spent around 45 minutes tackling a house blaze in the town.

A crew from Normashurst station and another from Clifton Road were called to the fire at an end-terraced house in Hawthorn Avenue.

A crew from Normanshurst station and another from Clifton Road were called to the fire at an end-terraced house in Hawthorn Avenue.

Firefighters were called to the scene just before 11.30am on Thursday and they used four breathing apparatus and two hose reels to extinguish the flames at the two-floor house.

With the house “well alight,” according to a fire service spokesman, the blaze was discovered on the second floor.

“All persons were accounted for and the scene was clear by 12.14pm,” the spokesman said.
