A walking football match will raise money for the family of Darren Boyd – when it is held at Kirkley & Pakefield Football Club.
The game, on Friday, April 1 at 7.30pm, will see the club's walking football team, take on a Lowestoft & District League side.
It has been organised by club representative Brian Sturman and Simon West – a former Lowestoft & District league player.
Darren Boyd, a father-of-two, died when he was hit by a train on January 2 this year.
Mr Boyd was a competitive central defender, who formerly played for Saturday teams including Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth Town, Hearts of Oak, Pot Black, Waveney and Kirkley and Pakefield – as well as the successful Lowestoft Railway Sunday side.
Mr Sturman, who organises the Kirkley & Pakefield walking football team, said: 'Darren was a big favourite of ours – he was just a complete footballer.
'We will be raising money for his wife and two children and that is the most important thing.'
Entrance to the game is free – although donations are welcome.
All proceeds will go to Sharon and the rest of Darren's family.
Barrie Atkins, commercial manager at K&P, added: 'Darren played the club at all levels in the past starting with the reserves then the first team and then on to play for our veteran's team.
'The family have many friends at the club and it is a way of us expressing our loss to try and help Sharon and the children in a small way.'
The match will be played on the new 3G arena, where two separate nine-a-side games will take place.
