As part of International Compost Awareness Week - which runs from Sunday, May 7 to Sunday, May 14 - Suffolk Waste Partnership is supporting several initiatives aiming to help residents get composting.

Not only will there be free compost and advice from Master Composter Volunteers, there will also be the launch of this year’s low cost compost bin promotion.

Officers will be giving away 25 litre bags of compost and helpful information to residents at Household Waste Recycling Centres across the county, with the Lowestoft HWRC in Hadenham Road, on the South Lowestoft Industrial Estate, open between 10am to 3pm next Tuesday, May 9.

For those interested in making their own compost, Suffolk Waste Partnership is also launching the second year of its successful compost bin promotion, which helps residents buy compost bins and other food digesters at discounted prices.

Rob Cole, Suffolk Waste Partnership Manager, said: “Compost Awareness Week is a great time to learn about the many benefits of composting at home.”
