A popular annual event is embarking on its most ambitious venture yet – with a licence to thrill audiences this weekend.
The Lowestoft Summer Festival, which is now in its fourth year, will present a spectacular open-air concert this Saturday evening.
Top musicians will descend on Royal Green as The James Bond Concert Spectacular takes centre stage on Saturday, July 21 at 7.30pm. This will be one of the first events on Royal Green to take place in the evening since event licensing laws changed and restrictions meant that music wasn’t allowed after 8pm – but this has now been extended to 11pm.
Festival chairman Mark Lanham said: “The concert has all the potential to be a fabulous show and we have overcome a number of difficulties to put it on – all we need is an appreciative audience and some decent weather.
“It has been a partnership of Lowestoft Vision, Lowestoft Rising, Lowestoft Lions, Lowestoft’s Rotary Clubs, the Kirkley Business Association, Sentinel Leisure Trust and London Road Baptist Church with support from Access Community Trust and the Marina Theatre – and financial support from Suffolk County Council, Waveney District Council, Lowestoft Town Council and Kirkley Peoples Forum.”
Mr Lanham said: “People can look forward to an evening like no other. The show has been a huge success all around the world with its energetic and exciting performance by some of the UK’s leading musicians, performing the iconic music of James Bond in a stunning concert.”
Featuring all the songs from the 007 movies, you can hear the likes of Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever, Skyfall, Thunderball, Live And Let Die, Goldeneye, Licence To Kill and numerous others.
Mr Lanham added: “We have a beer tent and a gin bar as well as other refreshments available. The audience may wish to bring a fold up chair and some warm clothing in case the evening gets cooler - then sit back and enjoy a superb evening.”
Featuring top musicians, who have been plucked from leading orchestras and West End shows to perform all the Bond classics in this amazing concert, the stunning vocals of Kerry Schultz will also be showcased.
Whether you’re a James Bond fanatic or just a concert fan, this show has something for everyone. To find out more visit www.lowestoftrising.co.uk/summer-festival
