Two friends from Lowestoft have taken part in a tandem skydive to raise money for an education charity.

Stacey Foulger and Lucy Ellis took the plunge at Beccles Airfield on June 25, raising more than £900 for Inspire Suffolk.

Both women have delivered programmes for the charity, which operates across the whole of Suffolk, including the Prince's Trust Team programme and NCS, helping young people to reach their full potential and push themselves out of their comfort zone.

With their feet firmly back on the ground, the duo said: 'The challenge and fear was all worth it to raise money for such a fantastic charity we both hold close to our hearts.

'We've seen how the charity can change young people's lives and helps young people to reach their full potential and push themselves out of their comfort zone so we decided to do the very same. It's definitely given us the bug and we'd like to do another one again very soon.'

Inspire Suffolk is a local charity which supports young people to overcome challenges that they are facing onto a positive future in employment or further training through numerous personal development programmes and activities. Courses run across Suffolk for 16 to 25-year-olds, including in Lowestoft and Ipswich.

Miss Foulger is a team leader for Inspire Suffolk's Prince's Trust Team programme based in Lowestoft and has delivered more than 20 team programmes to young people over the past seven years. Meanwhile Miss Ellis has supported both the team programme and NCS programme which the charity runs, working with young people to build skills and confidence to enable them to create a positive pathway for themselves.

Sara Warburton, fundraising and events officer at Inspire Suffolk, said: 'It was so amazing to see Stacey and Lucy take on such an amazing challenge for Inspire Suffolk. They were so brave and have raised a fantastic total so far which will support so many young people. It is so special when people choose to take on a challenge for us. We cannot thank them enough.'
