The congregation at a popular clifftop church are continuing their efforts to raise vital funds to repair the roof.

This month, the smell of bacon being cooked has been wafting from Pakefield Church as an Autumn café is held.

Every Friday this month, from 10am to 12.30pm, Pakefield Church has been opening its doors and inviting parishioners and visitors alike to come in and enjoy a cuppa and a chat with friends – and this will continue for the rest of the month.

Event organiser Judith Betts said: 'Andy the Clown even popped in to give a hand last week and helped with preparing the infamous bacon butties.

'But also on the menu are homemade cakes along with lots of other goodies – with all proceeds in aid of the Pakefield Church Thatch Fund.'

The Autumn café will be open on Friday, August 18 and August 25.
