Fundraisers from the Lowestoft-based Lauren Lou appeal, which raises money and awareness in aid of cancer charities, were involved in two days of collecting.
Last Friday, June 23, and Saturday, June 24 the group held a bucket collection at the Tesco store in north Lowestoft in aid of Cancer Research UK and they raised £1205.87 over the two days.
Gary Bennett, from the Lauren Lou appeal, said: 'This is an absolutely superb amount. Thank you to the Tesco staff and management and their very kind customers for giving so generously. Also thank you to my volunteers who covered 24 hours of collecting over the two days.'
The group has also been boosted by Pat McCabe, from Longworth's butchers on Gorleston Road, who took part in the London Marathon and raised £1748.70 for Cancer Research UK and the Lauren Lou cancer fundraising group. Mr Bennett said: 'We cannot thank Pat and his kind sponsors enough – this is an awesome amount.'
