Fundraisers from the Lowestoft-based Lauren Lou appeal, which continues to raise money and awareness in aid of Cancer Research UK, have been kept busy with a series of events.

On Saturday, April 29 collections were held at the Tesco store in Leisure Way, Lowestoft – where £737.28 was raised – and at the Tesco Metro store in Lowestoft town centre – where £348.59 was raised.

The following day another £428.51 was raised at the Tesco Leisure Way store for Cancer Research UK Big Pink, in association with Tesco.

Gary Bennett, from the Lauren Lou appeal, said: 'I would like to thank Tesco managers and staff and its kind donating customers for raising £1,514.38 over the two days.'

Last Tuesday, May 2 a bucket collection at the Morrisons store on the North Quay Retail Park raised £290.67 for the cancer appeals fund, while a collection and table top sale at Morrisons in south Lowestoft last Friday and Saturday raised £1,439.04.
