POLICE need to trace a man after he assaulted a 14 year old girl in Lowestoft between 11.30pm last night and 12.30am this morning.

Two girls, aged 14 and 15 years old, were walking down London Road North when they saw the man with a ladies pedal cycle, complete with black mudguards, not far from the junction with Milton Road East.

The girls spoke to the man and continued on their way to Battery Green car park where they met up with two other friends. The four then walked back to London Road North where they saw the man again. They began talking and walked through the Britten Centre to the Alma Road/Wollaston Road area with him.

During the course of the conversation the man began to nudge the 14-year-old girl and he then took her phone and assaulted her before leaving uninjured.

The man is described as of Asian appearance, of thin, skinny build, aged in his late teens to early 20s, around 5ft 4ins tall, with short black hair, a black beard and moustache and wearing a white long sleeved jumper and blue jeans.

Police are asking the man involved, or anyone who knows who he is to come forward. PC 1475 Plummer - at Lowestoft Police on 01986 835300 - would also like to hear from anyone who saw the group in the area.
