A Norfolk author has donated a number of children's books to a village book exchange to encourage youngsters to get into reading.
Paul Starling visited Gisleham on Monday, February 12, to contribute books to village's converted red telephone box.
While the author's own six novels are mainly aimed at an adult audience he wanted to encourage children to read book and get away from their computers and mobiles.
Mr Starling was greeted by a large crowd - complete with balloons and bunting.
Parish council clerk Carla Peterson said: 'We were very excited about Paul coming to our village to bring us the children's books and meet the community.'
The book exchange scheme began two years ago after parish councillor and retired builder Ivan Gilbert renovated the vacant phone box.
Mr Gilbert said: 'It is now used by many of the children and parishioners and is now the hub of the community.'
